I started ham radio when I was about 10 as a listener for many years. In 1984 I decided to take my licence and successfully past with the encourage of many good amateurs as I was about 27 years old. I only had a B licence then but worked on HF using a great friend's call sign, I worked many countries. I had a 30 year gap from Amateur Radio and came back in 2012 into the hobby and I must say it has changed quite considerble since I last used it. Somethings to the better but mainly it has improved radios but I still like tube radios becasue of the quality in sound.
I was an engineer by trade but due to a heart attack 7 years ago I had to take early retirement it left me slightly disable but still enjoy life. besides amateur radio my hobby is photography and model engineering.
Thanks visiting my page.
Regards to you families.
