G4DBR (CHRIS) & XYL 2E1FKJ (JUNE) live in the small village of Hill Ridware, Staffordshire. Which is situated about 20 miles north of the City of Birmingham & 7 miles north of the City of Lichfield in the County of Staffordshire.
I originate from the City of Norwich which I left in 1968. I support the Canaries - Norwich City Football Club.
I am active on HF, VHF, UHF. My equipment is a Icom 756 Pro III, SM20 Desk microphone.The antenna is a fullsize G5RV. Tuned by a SGC SG-237 Smarttuner. I have a Icom IC-7100 for DStar and for portable operation with an LDG Z-100Plus Auto Tuner. The antenna for portable use is a home brew Buddie Pole, kit from Sandpiper.
My Intersts other than Ham Radio is Photography in which I have been active as professional since training in the RAF in 1956.
I am a member of The Shackleton Association as I have a great love for the AVRO Shackleton. I served on 38 Sqn., as squadron photographer for 3 years at RAF Luqa, Malta. 38 sqn., had mark 2 Shackletons. I was responsible for fitting and servicing the F24 fixed camera. the F91 night camera. there was also a hand camera K20 which the crew operated from the port holes in the side of the aircraft. There was also a G45B Gun sight Camera. I was also responsible for processing and printing the photographs that were taken on bombing & Search & Rescue sorties. During my stay in Malta the squadron was detached to Cyprus, El Adem, Gibralta & Ballykelly, Northern Ireland.

Member of Stafford & Districts Amateur Radio Society - SADARS which meets every Wednesday at the Wildwood Community Centre, Stafford.
