I now only use digital modes  dstar dmr and with fusion being my favourite digital mode

At my station , I use a YAESU FTM 400 as a node radio on a rf link to my repeater GB7PM ON 439.4375 C4FM

I am also the keeper of GB7PM at the site shared with GB3WR that I have been involved with for some 30 plus years  mainly as treasurer

I did at first replace the ageing repeater at gb3wr with a new YAESU FUSION DRX1 Repeater and it was placed on a dual mode N O V but sadly it caused a lot of bad feeling with the  analogue  versus digital users and it was then decided to abandon the project and we returned to FM only on GB3WR

SADLY IN ALL THE AGGRO ONE FUSION UNIT WAS ABUSED AND DESTROYED  so a new one was purchased and after 3 attempts I was granted an N O V on the 11/09/2017 for a FUSION only repeater on 70cms

and so far it's worked out well with a few issues but we are working on them

at home, I mainly use a Bluedv Hotspot with 3 handhelds for dstar dmr and fusion and it works well

Also, I use wires x box on a ftm400 radio as the node radio

and in the car, I use a Bluedv and MIFI and tablet along with 3 handhelds

and I have a ft8900 for the odd FM chat and YAESU FTM400 for monitoring gb7pm mobile

Sadly a few old hats still condemn DIGITAL RADIO AS BEING NOT REAL RADIO but I guess it's a sign of the future and we all  need to adapt and share all modes

but I think we are safe to say DIGITAL MODES ARE HERE TO STAY
