Ham Member Lookups: 1954

I'm a ham since 1979 and started to be on 10m CW, my favorite band using a 2el quad at that time. Now I'm using an R6000 vertical antenna only for 6m to 20m about 2.5 mtr above ground next to the building. My favorite bands are 10m and 6m in CW.

In the 1980s I joint the swiss merchant navi for about 3.5 years as a radio operator and had seen many places during that period of time.

I've started D-Star around 2012 with my own handheld ID-31a but have been involved with D-Star repeaters earlier with our clubstation HB9HD. With Raspberry Pi and DVRPTR v1 I got into the hotspot system while no local repeaters were around. With help of Ramesh, VA3UV I could set up a Freestar system together with a modified GM300 70cm Motorola transceiver.

VoIP phone via internet and digital modes have come up as well but hardly any time for all those things to do while my primary hobby accordion (playing in a club and being a conductor in another club) has become the main part for my leisure time the last few years.

So, looking forward to meet you somewhere on the band - cw or digital.
