I was first licensed in 2006 when I was 16, I soon grew very interested in the volunteering aspects of Ham Radio. Since then I have been very involved in Skywarn, my local Fire Dept, and other volunteer opertunitees. I now spend most of my time playing with new digital modes, APRS, PACKET, D-Star, P25, DMR, NXDN/IDAS etc...
On June 30th of 2012 I married Tracy, she has yet to get her call, but she enjoys listening. You can contact me on the Baraboo, WI repeater 147.315+ PL123.0. I am also available on Packet 145.030 (kc0wkp-1) for Mailbox.
I am very active on D-Star, you will find me on the 145.315 WB9FDZ-C machine in Baraboo or on REF053A. I have found that D-Star is full of projects, currently I have been able to take a analog radio and turn it into a D-Star gateway, it will take Analog or D-Star transmissions and patch them to the D-Star network. This is done with a DVRPTR board and a raspberry Pi.
