Latest project is MMDVM host running on Raspberry Pi 3 computer with DV Mega card.  I run IRCDDB gateway software along side MMDVM on the Pi which allows me to run D-Star and DMR concurrently.  I packaged this system in a DHAP Mini Mega case.

I also have a DV4mini dongle which allows me to do triple digital voice using D-Star, Fusion (C4FM), and DMR over the same dongle.  DV4mini now working on Raspberry Pi 2 computer (mobile capable).

Lived in Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA since 2001.  Got technician license in August 2014 and upgraded to general in October 2014. I have enjoyed 2m and 70 cm and I love D-Star (ID 51 anniversary edition).  I also do Fusion with a  (Yaesu FTM400D) and FT1DR.  I enjoy nets and I like irlp, and echolink.  I enjoy DMR, and D-star the most.

I am using an IC-7100 for mobile HF into a Little Tarheel II antenna  I also just installed an Alpha-Delta multiband inverted dipole antenna. My home HF station is an FT-991.  I have made a few contacts using  D-Star over HF.

I come into the hobby with a lot of computer experience and highly technical background. I am interested in trying out all the digital modes to discover their capabilities.  I like experimental techniques and look forward to discovering all the niches of this hobby.

Previously I built a mobile D-Star hotspot consisting of a DVAP running on a raspberry Pi 2  computer powered by battery using iPad as a wifi hotspot connection.  I have taken this on trips and it works great until I get out of cell phone range.

I also use a ThumbDV device which I am currently using with a Winbook 7inch windows 10 tablet (tw700) which is working well on D-Star through any wifi connection.  Currently using beta version of WinDV from Dutch dstar website.

I run a Yaesu WIRES-X node (11202), room 21202 in Idaho Falls, ID. I'm using FTM-400 to get the Wires-X node on the air.  I'm running the Wires-X node in all digital mode.
