My QTH is located in Shadwell, East London, UK. Where, I live in a flat of a multi-story building on the edge of the City of London. Whilst, to one side you would find the City, on another side of my home is found Canary Warf so not only do I livein ahigh rise building but, also surrounded by them too. As might be imagined, life is complex and challenging living directly in the middle of a large city, although, on the other hand, living in such a dynamic environment is very interesting and fulfilling. However, my location is very demanding where amateur radio is concerned, mostly because of the physical dimentions of the building in which I live. Additionally, my interests and adventures on the amateur bands, have demanded that I constantly learn and evolve in my understanding of radio theory. Incredibly, due to the difficulty of accessing the HF bands because of my dwelling in a multi-story building, my interest, development and knowledge of radio seems to have been catalysed in directions that, quite possibly, I might never of experienced if I lived else where. Presently, I am a member of the Loughton and Epping Forest Amateur Radio Society, LEFARS. During, August 2011, finally, I passed my advanced licence exam. My current interests lie heavily in homebrew and portable operating, these activities are devoutly supported at LEFARS. Therefore, it would be very likely that you might very well contact me whilst portable, mobile or even from home. At home, I operate a TS-480HX into a 14m loop or a vertical 20m wire. Both of these antennas, allow me to operate into the amateur bands from both ends. Whilst home and portable, I use MacLoggerDX to manage and log all my contacts via QRZ.com. When out portable, normally, you would find me using a FT-857 into many different breeds of antennas, which would be completely impossible to use at my QTH. Further more, at times you will find me operating with D-star and analogue on VHF/UHF, both locally and maybe DX. In the future, you will probably hear me more on 4meters USB, satellite and, moon bounce. On the web, I'm always involved in the development of amateur radio, electronics and perhaps a little writing when ever I do get a opportunity.
