I took my Amateur Radio test back in January of 2013 in Loveland Colorado where I used to live.  Now days I live in a coastal town called Astoria in my native state of Oregon.  Astoria (The Goondock's) is where "The Goonie's" and "Short Circuit"  movie's were filmed.  Astoria is mainly a fishing town and has been established since 1811.  I dont play radio that often anymore however when I do, it is on HF using JT65 and sometimes Phone.  I also enjoy Dstar, Wires-X, IRLP and VHF/UHF simplex.  6 meters is a lot of fun as well.  When I am mobile I like to scan the local repeaters and send APRS beacons.  If you use APRS, feel free to send me an APRS message to W0MUD-9 when in the mobile and W0MUD-7 when on the motorcycle.   I have a digipeater and iGate set up near Fort Clatsop that has great Hwy 101 and some back country coverage that works quite well.  I also have put together an ISS/Satellite APRS iGate using DireWolf image on a Raspberry Pi and a RTL-SDR USB stick.  I like the use of Linux over Windows but I am not much of a computer guy.  I enjoy the outdoors greatly.  I ride a BMW G650GS DualSport as much as possible.  When I am not riding, my Family and I are camping, hiking, bike riding, hunting, fishing or forraging for wild edibles in the local forrests.  I should mention that I only use QRZ for logging contacts.  I will send you a QSL card if I receive one from you.  No need to send a SASE.  Thanks for stopping by and checking out my QRZ page.
