Licensed since 1977 and interested in radio since the late 1960's as a kid...Eligible for QCWA! My, how we used to make fun of QCWA'ers as teens! I enjoy HF-6 and 222/440/1200MHz. Favorite rigs are FT-817, FT-100, IC-T81, a few exotic Japanese radios, and a whole PILE of hand-helds. Ridiculous amount. Some YLs have a "shoe thing"... Mine's a "handheld thing"! Just got a VX-177 and I am VERY impressed with it. Also an inexpensive Wouxon 2m-220MHz HT is very cool. I run the 444.700MHz repeater and 1286.000MHz repeaters associated with Smithtown, NY ARES. IRLP nodes 4447, 4700, 7300 7373 7737 and 8186 (slated to serve the Red Cross). Listen live at http://irlp-li.net Node 7300 is a briefcase UHF repeater/IRLP node and 7373 is a smaller briefcase IRLP node/D-Star hotspot using a Paspberry Pi and an FT-817 for the RF point.

D-Star is here on Long Island. WD2NY: check it out at http://wd2ny.dstargateway.org

I like retro interests such as old radios ( 1970's-- HA! ) and a bit of renewed interest in tubes like AA5 radios. At work I am a finance professional at an Infiniti dealership in Long Island, New York.
