At the top of the page is the 40 cw station that I used in high school.
The transmitter is a DX 60 with the HG 10 VFO....running about 60 watts....The receiver is a SX 111 and also use the sx100.
I use an Icom 880H in the truck with a supergainer antenna..the base radio is an Icom 5100 and antenna is a GP 9 comet,The antenna for HF is a Hexbeam by K4KIO. This antenna is connected to a FT 1000D...which at times drives a SB220 Heathkit linear..the antenna for the low bands is a 80/40 bazooka. I have a ft400dr for fusion and also use it on
wires x. I recently added a Flex 3000 for the jt65/9 modes and the software is HRD with wsjt-x and
the alert sofware.
The digital part of the station is a Icom 746 and a SignalLink which is listening to jt65 on 20 meters or psk 31....
The other station is a Icom mark II G which is listening to digial modes on 15m
I use a flex 1500 for qrp and find it to be a great little rig.A lot of hams use
a flex 1500 as just a receiver and have another radio as the tranmitter..great setup..
I received my licence in 1962 while in high school...VE3ECZ..this also
allowed me to get a broadcasting job at CFOB which was a kw broadcasting
station in Fort Frances Ontario across from International Falls Mn.
I received my Science degree from Waterloo University and B ed from
Lakehead University at Thunder Bay. I left teaching and took over my parents
resort business ..selling that business and starting Petersons Island Houseboats...
Danna and I sold that business and we moved to Spring Hill Fl. She began teaching for the
Hernando Schools and I taught in a private school in Clearwater Fl...Started a computer business
in Spring Hill Fl...this lasted for about 15 years. I thought that it would not last a year.
I changed my call to W4ECZ and I have had an extra for a couple of years. I like the old
boat anchors as you can see by the pictures....
My favorites are hallicrafters SX 101 and SX111...still have my DX-60 and the
Hammarlund hq 100...
I hope to see you on the bands..
