I've been on the radio since April 2014, when I turned 40 years young and enjoying every minute. My Dad is the one who got me interested in ham radio. I just wish I hadn't waited as long as I did to get into it. I hit the ground running with my technician license. I had a hard time finding some where to take the exam on my days off. So I wanted to be able to give something back to the amateur radio community and maybe make it easier for someone else to take an exam. With that, I set my eyes for extra class and becoming a VE. With this new found determination I took the general class the next month in May and then the extra class in June and by July I was a VE! I've learned so much and still found so much out there to learn its mind blowing. I've dove head frist into the digital world with DStar. And with the help of my Elmers, we kicked the ball rolling for getting a DStar repeater here in West Texas. I am the sysop for the W5AW repeater.
Look forward to hearing you on the air.
