This is me when I first passed my foundation licence in 2015
This is an intermediate licence and 10 months later!
If we have had a QSO, I thank you for the pleasure.
I spent most of the 44 years of my working career maintaining radio & transmission line equipment. This was on commercial and military installations. For some of the last few years I was involved with technical support for data communications and data networking. Finally I was involved in training for optic fibre and fibre distribution as an industry accredited trainer.
I first became interested in amateur radio more than 30 years ago and had always intended to sit the exams for my licence. It is only in my retirement that I have had the time to do so. I successfully attained my foundation licence in February 2015 and I have now attained my intermediate licence and received my callsign of 2E0FEI. Hopefully the full licence will follow in 2017
My HF antenna is a HW-42HP, an Off Centre Fed Dipole with the centre at 8.5 m and both sides dropping to 6m over their respective length.
It is dog-legged to fit in my garden.
A GP-2500 HF vertical is mounted to the side of the house.
In the shack is a Yaesu FT-757GX mkII with a Yaesu FC-757AT auto tuner.
In the shack also is an Icom IC-7100 with a LDG IT-100 autotuner and a AV 508 Desk Microphone.
These are used for HF, 6m, 4m, 2m and 70cm. The Icom is also used for digital voice.
For 2m & 70cm I use an X-300N colinear mounted on the side of my house.
I have a DV-mega on a Bluestack micro +. I run BlueDV for android on my Nexus 7 to control this.
I also have a DV-mega on a Raspberry Pi 3 and run the KB5RAB MMDVM image on this.
An Icom IC-E92D HT is used for Dstar, a Tytera MD-380 HT is used for DMR and a Yaesu FT1XDE HT for Fusion.
The main PSU is a MAAS 50A power supply.
Thank you for viewing my page.
73's and good DXing.
