This is me when I first passed my foundation licence in 2015

This is an intermediate licence and 10 months later!

If we have had a QSO, I thank you for the pleasure.

I spent most of the 44 years of my working career maintaining radio & transmission line equipment. This was on commercial and military installations. For some of the last few years I was involved with technical support for data communications and data networking. Finally I was involved in training for the planning of optic fibre networks and fibre distribution as an industry accredited trainer.
I have repaired and serviced radio's for more years than I care to remember.

I first became interested in amateur radio more than 30 years ago and had always intended to sit the exams for my licence. It is only in my retirement that I have had the time to do so. I successfully attained my foundation licence in February 2015 and  I have now attained my intermediate licence and received my callsign of 2E0FEI. Hopefully the full licence will follow in 2017

My  HF antenna is a HW-42HP, an Off Centre Fed Dipole with the centre at 8.5 m and both sides dropping to 6m over their respective length.

It is dog-legged to fit in my garden.

A GP-2500 HF vertical is mounted to the side of the house.

In the shack is a Yaesu FT-757GX II with a Yaesu FC-757AT auto tuner and an AV 508 Desk Microphone.

There is also is Icom IC-7100 with a LDG IT-100 autotuner and an AV 508 Desk Microphone.

These are used for HF, 6m, 4m, 2m and 70cm. The Icom is also used for digital voice.

For 2m & 70cm I use an  X-300N colinear mounted on the side of my house.

I have now added a boom microphone to my station. Using a BM-800 condenser Mic .

Run it on the Icom IC-7100 and have had all good reports so far (not bad for a £10 microphone)! Actually had to turn the mic gain down 50% on the radio.

Awaiting delivery of a Tube preamp & equalliser for the microphone. Have now also purchased a Pyle PDMIC58 (Shure SM58 copy) Dynamic microphone to play with on this set up!!

I have a DV-mega on a Bluestack micro +. I run BlueDV for android on my Nexus 7 to control this.

I also have a DV-mega on a Raspberry Pi 3 and run the Pi-Star MMDVM image on this.

A Yaesu FT1XDE HT is used for Fusion, a Tytera MD-380 HT for DMR and an Icom IC-E92D HT for Dstar.

The main PSU is a MAAS 50A power supply.

Thank you for viewing my page.

73's and good DXing.
