I'm Paul Hunter, 51 years old and married to Sue for almost 30 years.
I have a 20 year old daughter called Chloe and an American Bulldog called Dave.
My HF radio is a Yaesu FT950.
I have two antennas, the first is an OCFD (off center fed dipole) consisting of 10 meters of wire with a 4:1 balun at just over 3 meters along the length. It seems to work well judging by the contacts made using it.
The second is a 5 band cobweb type antenna which will eventually replace the long wire.
I've added an Icom IC 2820 to the home set up. This is connected to a Diamond V2000 6m/2m/70cm antenna for local repeater and simplex contacts and to a DV Mega on a Bluestack for Dstar.
I live in a small town just 100km north of London called Northampton. It's a very historical town with records going back many centuries and archaelogical finds dating back to the Iron Age.
It had been known as a boot and shoe industrial town for many years but is now known for it's service, IT and transport industry.
I'm currently experimenting with PSK31 so if we've made contact in that mode then please accept my apologies for any errors!
