hello thankyou for looking me up i am sean 2e0saf im sure if you are looking here we are in QSO here is some info for you...

I live in a small north west uk town called wigan which is approx 17miles(27kms)west of manchester city centre and 13miles(21kms) east of liverpool city centre

home of the famous wigan rugby league cherry and white's and home to one of europes largest canned food's factory HEINZ 57 ( BAKED BEANS )


I obtained my intermediate 2E licence on the 17th january 2001 after passing my novice nrae at the rawtenstall rae exam centre on the 11th december


My H.F. radio is a icom ic-7410

i use 2 antenna's 40 and 15mtrs a 66ft dipole @ 35ft agl

and 20 to 10mtrs a g3tpw cobwebb @ 50ft agl

6mtrs i use a diamond v2000 with gp mod





2/70cms is a kenwood tm-d710e 

2/70 antenna comet gp-6n @ 40ft agl





23cms Atv digital

my digital receiver is a Fortec star Beta the receiver is mostly looking at GB3-UD 23cms repeater located at MowCop

Location: NGR: SJ858575 Locator: IO83VC Latitude/Longitude: 53.114595 / -2.212611

the antenna for Atv currently is a wimo 44ele at approx 55ft agl

the preamp is a kuhne electronics (db6nt) mku-lna-132a with a 46db gain with a 0.7db noise figure

the Digital TX is a Antennair Quadrant DTX-1

the r.f. output of the DTX-1 is very low ( flea power ) -5dbm around 0.3mw @ 100% rf level

so a first line amplifier is needed  this amp takes the -5dbm and generates around 100mw but this level is to much for the 

second line amp so the DTX-1 is running at 14% R.F drive around 0.03mw to allow the first line amp to deliver approx 10mw

the second line amp receives the 10mw drive and generates a more healthy 500mw..!!

the amplifier chain so far runs into a tx filter filtering sharply above and below 1249mhz then the output from the filter 

is fed into the final amplifier the 500mw drive level finishes at 50watts this amplifier is capable of 1watt for 100watts output

the second line amp is also capable of 20mw drive for 18watts ( analogue / fm )

all the amplifiers are designed and built be bert modderman pe1rki 

bert makes some works of art indeed and is a very respected supplier of amplifers and filters 






i am capable of receiving analogue atv signals also

the receiver is a toshiba / pace ts-540 again the kuhne pre-amp is on the input all in all quite a good small set up


the local talk-back frequency is 144.750mhz

this stream is supplied to the BATC by myself received 24/7 and sent into the internet


any activity can be seen when the repeater is in use also with audio feed
