I was first licensed in New York in 1991 as N2MUO. I upgraded to Extra in 1992 and changed calls to AB2M. In 2001, I relocated to Tampa, FL, but kept my "2-land" call. You can take the New Yorker out of New York...
I enjoy VHF/UHF/HF, and am interested in digital modes. I run the *AB2M* Echolink conference and D*Star REF051. I consider emergency communications my raison d'etre for being a ham, and enjoy experimenting with alternative power sources and emergency antenna projects.
Professionally, I am an engineer for a company that makes security and encryption products for computer networks.
I have held numerous positions in ARES, RACES, ACS, SKYWARN, and with the Civil Air Patrol.
