Photo above is (from left to right) me, my wife Melisa KE7KRS and our very good friend Jim K7KFB on Maloney Mtn. in Columbia county, WA in 2012.

I don't have much of a station at home and haven't had for several years now. I keep hoping I might have some time to change that situation "sometime soon" but life is busy and "spare time" to work on such projects seems scarce. As a consequence, most of my operating these days is done on the road or in the field. This isn't all bad because field ops really are my favorite way to do radio. Thanks for looking me up. I look forward to working you again soon!

73,

Eric, AD7BF

Salmon Run 2016

AD7BF was on the air from Kittitas county in 2016. We had some complications powering the station because of lack of sunshine for the solar panels combined with tired old batteries. At one point, high wind took down our antenna too but we managed to work a few stations on reduced power over the course of the weekend; and, of course, we had a great time! Thanks to Keith AD7FT for helping out. And, if you managed to work us, thank YOU too!

Field Day 2016

AD7BF was on the air for Field Day 2016 from beautiful Kittitas county (ARRL EWA section). If we were fortunate enough to work you (or if you attempted) we thank you! Thanks go also to Keith Jackson AD7FT for helping out. Much appreciated!

Salmon Run 2015

AD7BF operated from Garfield and Columbia counties in 2015. I hope we were able to work you and help put one or both of those rare counties in your logbook.

Salmon Run 2014

AD7BF operated from Columbia county on Saturday and from Garfield county on Sunday during Salmon Run 2014. Thanks to everyone for your contacts. Photo QSL cards are ready now! Send me your card and I will respond with one of mine. SASE is not necessary but is always appreciated.

N7P Vintage Aircraft Weekend, 2014

30 August - Through the gracious cooperation of the Historic Flight Foundation, special event station N7P operated from the apron just outside the HFF's hanger at Paine Field, Everett, WA once again this year for Vintage Aircraft Weekend. If we've got you in the log, Thanks for the contact! We have a nice photo QSL card for you. Please send your QSL to Jack Rookaird KC7YE or to me and we'll get a card off to you right away. We've already got the cards for this event in hand so there will be no delay. SWL reports welcome too!

International Lighthouse Lightship Weekend (ILLW) 2014 - Special Event Station N7M, Swiftsure LV83

Jack KC7YE and I operated from the wardroom of the LV83 for ILLW 2014 on SATURDAY only. Our operating schedule aboard the Swiftsure was limited as it had to coordinate with the schedule of the museum staff. Although we were able to operate for just a few hours we had a great time with one transmitter on HF, operating primarily 40m and 20m using the ship's existing HF antenna. We ran mostly SSB but ran some CW as well (no digital this year). We also operated VHF FM on 2m simplex with a mobile whip on a tripod about six feet above the deck. QSL cards will be available very soon for anyone we put in the log. Send your QSL or SWL report to either Jack or me and we'll be sure to get a card on its way to you as soon as they're back from the printer.

Salmon Run / Washington State QSO Party 2013

AD7BF operated from PACIFIC county during Salmon Run (Washington State QSO Party) 2013. As always, if you're in the log I have a nice photo QSL card for you. Please send me your card and I'll get one off to you right away. SASE never necessary but always appreciated. Sorry, but I don't do e-QSL or LOTW.

International Lighthouse Lightship Weekend (ILLW) 2013 - Special Event Station N7M, Swiftsure LV83

Jack KC7YE and yours truly operated special event station N7M from the gally of the historic tug Arthur Foss at Northwest Seaport at Lake Union in Seattle, WA on Saturday 17 September 2013 for ILLW. Ordinarily the Swiftsure is moored next to the Arther Foss and it was to be this day too but restoration work on the Swiftsure was taking longer than expected and kept the vessel in dry dock a few hundred yards away from us. The light ship was still within view but not accessable to us. Due to other activities on the Arthur Foss we were not able to get aboard and start setting up until about 11AM local time. Band conditions were very poor for us for most of our time there but we managed to make a few contacts anyway and had a great time operating from this historic tug and chatting with the constant stream of visitors and the museum volunteers while we were at it. As Murphy would have it, the bands only started to really open up about the time we had to tear down. Wish we could have stayed a little longer!

If you were one of the lucky few to contact N7M on this date, we have a nice special event QSL card for you! Please send your card (if you have one) along with an SASE to Jack KC7YE or to me and we'll get a card in the mail to you right away. All (paper) QSL requests will be honored as long as you're in the log. We'd really like to have your card but, if you don't have a QSL card of your own and want a card from us, please send us a copy of your log entry for our QSO and an SASE and we will send you a card.

73 and thanks for the QSO!

Salmon Run / Washington State QSO Party 2012

The Snohomish county hams "expedition force" has returned from another Salmon Run adventure to the rare counties in the southeastern corner of our fine state. I hope you managed to work us this year as we had Expedition Class stations set up in Columbia, Garfield, and Asotin counties. Jack KC7YE operated mobile, driving a loop through these counties and Walla Walla, Adams and Whitman counties as well. Unfortunately Frank K7GSE wasn't able to make the trip this year but he was on the air some from Snohomish county and we did contact him from Columbia county. K7KFB, KE7KRS, and AD7BF were all on the air from Columbia county on Saturday and from Garfield county on Sunday. KD7JB, along with KF7KMH and KF7KMI operated from Asotin county both days. Weather was fantastic and band conditions were pretty darn good too. Needless to say, everybody had a great time!

If you contacted AD7BF or KE7KRS during Salmon Run and would like a QSL we'd be very happy to oblige. Once again, we have special color photo cards showing our operating locations on the day(s) we worked you. Send us your card and we'll get ours in the mail to you straight away. An SASE is not necessary as we respond 100% to QSL card requests. That said, SASEs are always appreciated (and can speed up the process, as we do sometimes run out of stamps or envelopes). We look forward to adding your cards to our collection!

Salmon Run / Washington State QSO Party 2011

A contingent of Snohomish County Hams Club members traveled to the sparsely populated southeast corner of the state to activate some rare counties for Salmon Run 2011. This included the following stations: AD7BF, K7KFB, KD7EJI, KE7KRS, KE7NBZ, KD7JB, KD7AVP. KD7EJI assisted KE7NBZ in operating from Columbia county and KD7JB operated in Asotin county with assistance from KF7KMH and KF7KMI. AD7BF operated from Garfield, Columbia, and Whitman counties assisted by KE7KRS. K7KFB and KD7AVP operated from Whitman county.

Please send your QSL along with SASE directly to the stations you contacted. AD7BF will return a special color photo QSL card for each county we worked you from. These cards are new for this year, they are not the same ones we used last year. You may have our card already but, if you don't have the ones from Salmon Run 2011, you don't have these cards. Our cards for each county we operated from (Garfield, Columbia, and Whitman) are unique to said counties. Each photo is different. If we worked you from more than one county, then we have more than one card for you! An SASE is always appreciated but is not a requirement. Please send us your card and we will respond.

Other stations in our Salmon Run group are responsible for responding to QSL requests of them. I especially encourage you to QSL KD7JB if you contacted Jim and/or the boys (Jesse KF7KMH and Matt KF7KMI) during their QRP effort from Asotin county. I can assure you that the boys will get a big kick out of receiving your cards and will have a lot of fun looking them over. Please do what you can to encourage these young hams and keep them excited about the hobby!

Thank you for participating in Salmon Run!

Salmon Run 2010

If you worked AD7BF or K7KFB during Salmon Run 2010 we thank you. Please note - WE WANT YOUR CARD! We have a few of our special QSL cards for this event left. The cards are unique to each county we operated from and include color photos. Every station in our log who sends us a card will receive a card from us in return. SASE very much appreciated!
