Joined the hobby in 2015 to pass the time away while traveling and when sitting home on those long cold nights.
I was soon bitten by the bug and have since upgraded my General class to Extra class. After upgrading class I switched from ( KE8BPY ) to the current AD8DX. Working on getting setup for HF operations using the 857d radio that I picked up. I also currently have a dual band IC-207h that i use in the vehicle as well as HT that I use.
I enjoy learning and meeting new people and this hobby is exactly what I was looking for. It is challanging yet rewarding at the same time. I look forward to meeting many more as time goes by. I can be found usually in the morning on my commute on the Northville repeater 443.100 PL 82.5 and then for the commute home I am usually on the GM repeater 442.075 PL 123. However there are other many great repeaters in the area.
2017 I finally broke down and bought a new dual band radio for mobile use. I opt'ed for the Icom 5100. This has been a great radio thus far and I have greatly enjoyed the mobile capability of Dstar as well. I chose to add a SharkRf and mobile router to the vehicle to be able to use the Dstar anywhere I have wifi hotspot. As well as give me DMR abd Fusion capability down the road. This has been fun and exciting and look forward to learning even more as time goes on. I have made several friends over the air and in person with the new setup and look forward to hearing from more. I try to monitor 24C as my primary go-to.
I enjoy riding motorcycles and seeing the country side when I can.
Also enjoy working on and customizing my machines to make them my own.
