WD0WD (formerly AE7NR) - Rob has had a lifelong interest in all things radio.  From a very young age growing up on a farm and ranch, he would tune the AM dial looking for what he now knows were DX stations and try to deal with fade, QRN, and QRM.  By age seven, he learned that there was a ham radio operator in his town who would talk to people around the world.  He was facinated by this.  By the end of high school, already having an EMT license, he enjoyed the radio work associated with working in the area of public safety.  This fascination with “radio” continues to the present.  His focus remains HF amateur radio.

Within the amateur radio field, WD0WD enjoys radiosport contesting and DXing.  In 2016, WD0WD (running his then current callsign, AE7NR) placed 95th - Single-op All High DX, in the URE EARTTY contest.  He had the pleasure of being an operator for the ARRL 100th Year Anniversary QSO event and operated as W1AW/7 for both the separate Western and Eastern Washington operations, as well as also operated the ARRL portable station, W100AW/7, in Oregon.  Additionally, he truly enjoys participating in Field Day and looks forward to it each year.  Rob is a member of the ARRL (Life Member), the Western Washington DX Club (WWDXC), and the Western Washington Contest Club (WWCC).  Additionally, WD0WD is a founding member of the Southwest Kansas Amateur Radio Alliance (a RadioSport contesting club) where he currently serves as President and Trustee.  Be sure and check out and "LIKE" Southwest Kansas Amateur Radio Alliance's Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/SWKARA.RadioSport/).

Currently, WD0WD is active in the design and planning phase of his two-tower / 4-square array, Contest and DX station.

Outside of amateur radio, Rob continues his career as an attorney at law and professional trustee, and enjoys English Setter Pointing dogs, especially his “Windy Mindy,” getting away from it all on his ranch, and being active in his parish and as a 3d degree Knight of Columbus.

WD0WD was intially licensed as KF7PEK, took his general and then extra class tests at one and two months later, and became initially licensed in extra class as AE7NR (2011 to Sept. 2017).  Rob was granted his vanity callsign, WD0WD on Sept. 23, 2017.  He moved his amateur station from Camano Island, Washington, to Fowler, Kansas in 2017.
