First licensed as a Novice in July 1991 shortly after finishing my junior year of high school at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts. I would like to thank my elmer Vernon Dameron K1DRN/SK (later K7DRN/SK) (who was also my high school history teacher) for helping me train on CW week after week for months after school helping me to earn my Novice ticket. ARRL member since October 1991.

I'm a U.S. Air Force Military Auxiliary Radio System (MARS) radio operator having started with MARS in 1993.  I was the Arizona State MARS Director serving between January 2013 to December 2014. I'm also member of the U.S. Air Force Communications and Air Traffic Controllers Association (AFCOMMATC).

I'm a member of the Arizona Department of Public Safety (State Police) Amateur Radio Group - K7DPS. I've been with the agency since February 2001.  Membership in this club is closed to employees of the agency only. Please look up K7DPS for club operations.

Member of the Arizona Outlaws Contest Club.  I'm a intermittent/part-time contestor; catching only a few contests per year. My preferred contest logging program is N1MM+ with FLDIGI interface for digital.

I volunteer for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary as a radio operator.  I'm currently serving as the communications staff officer for Division 10, Arizona and for Flotilla 114-10-08.  I provide HF and VHF radio services.
