Greetings,

I'm back into amateur radio after a many-year hiatus, with a renewed focus on HF and portable operation.

Primary bands   60m through 6m
Operating modes Digital (JT65, JT9, Olivia, Hells) and CW
Operating interests QRP, SOTA, portable operation
Club associations Colorado QRP Club (http://www.coloradoqrpclub.org)

Obligatory Shack Info Section

The current shack is fairly minimalist, given the focus on portable operation and short time that I’ve had to resume accumulating ham stuff. I share the shack with my daughter, Nadia (KE0KGA).

Main (and currently only) rig is an Elecraft KX3 with ProAudio Engineering “Ultimate” extended heat sink, powered by an Astron linear supply (which is completely overkill for the application, but which I already had from before).

The KX3 drives its earth-shattering 15w max through a short run of Davis DRF-400 into an attic-mounted MFJ-2012 OCFD for 60 - 6m.

Key is Palm Radio Single on a rough-polished stainless base. High-end fashion lighting and clock courtesy of IKEA.

All of the cabling is isolation and control between the laptop, the speakers, and the KX3: four channels of audio through a fabricated isolation transformer setup, CAT control through a USB isolator.

Logging via Log4OM, integrated with WSJT-X / JTAlertX and FLDigi.

Full disclosure: the above image (which I also use for my eQSL card) is not that of my exact QTH, but instead is of Lake Isabelle in the Brainard Lake Recreation Area, about 1.75 hours to the northwest. Nevertheless, it is a scenic area, is nearby, and represents what 90%+ of non-Colorado-residents think that all of Colorado looks like. For those hams who insist upon the ultimate in accuracy, I can offer an alternate eQSL card featuring a full-color, HDR image of our cat.
