My 2nd QSL card, dedicated to the Funicular in Ellmau.
The "Hardkaiser-Funicular" was build in 1972 by the company "Voest-Alpine" and was in operation until April 2015. The only Funicular in the Kitzbühel Alps was repaced by a 10 people detachable monocable gondola (10-MGD) what the waiting times reduce, especially in winter.
Voest (Vereinigten Oesterreichischen Eisen- und Stahlwerke - United Austrian Iron and Steel Works) builds since the 50s the Aerial TramWays. The only variety of manufacturers in Austria, he was desperate on the now world famous system "Wallmannsberger" for bicable gondola detachable (BGD). The last BGD System "Wallmannsberger" in Europe (Grünberg in Gmunden) was replaced 2013. More Infos an Pictures here.
This is my 1st QSL card, dedicated to the old cable car in Bezau.
Built in 1955 by the company "Steurer" she performed more than 50 years and operated without any incident! My first visit and ride with this cable car was in Juni 2007. Since that day i was an oldtimer cable car fan. I often take this cable car, until it was demolished in 2010 and replaced by a Funifor. My last trip with this particular cable car I took the machinist's cab in the bottom station. A great experience!
All that remained my memory and many photos. All stations are demolished, but not the 2nd top station. On this point you have a senic view over bezau. There is also a geocache available!
See fotos from the oldtimer, last day, demolishing, construction area and the 1st funifor in austria.

Since I got my TS-480, I'm less likely to see on the webcam. The removable Display
is standing near the Laptop by the Sofa ;-)
