This is an aerial view which I also chose as frontpage of one of my QSL cards. The picture is showing my house and setup of antennas. The antenna tower's height is 24m. The tower not only carries the beam antennas and slopers but it is also omega matched as to perform as a 160m toploaded vertical.
Please also note the vertical of 27m height in my backyard. It is coupled and matched to my antenna tower. Thus, the setup serves as a switchable 2-element vertical array for 160m. The home brew delay & sum beamformer is shack based.
My DOK for the German DLD Award is I15 ( = India-one-five ).
The following picture features my shack:
I am an active ham since 1964. I started ham radio while I still was a pupil at school.
Budget was extremely small in these times and all equipment had to be homebrew.
Right from the beginning I was fascinated by DXing.
Now DJ9KG also is the home of the professional station management
program TurboLog (see: WWW.TurboLog.de ). There is no successful DXing without it.
You may check this statement with my DXCC standings or with the DXCC League listings in Clublog.
I am a 100% QSLer via LoTW and/or bureau.
This is one of my current QSL-cards:
The card shows my house and antenna setup on a frosty winter's morning.
Frost ensures wire antennas and Yagi elements being resolvable even on a small photography... hi!
