Hi, I'm Wolfgang! We live in Jesteburg (http://www.Jesteburg.de), a small town on the southern outskirts of Hamburg (Northern Germany). Don't have much room for antennas. So EchoLink and D'Star are also used in addition. See me there? Just give me a shout! Due to my poor antenna facilities (only half size Windom) I often need to use CW in order to get out to the world. Sometimes spurious radiation comes into my shack. So, vy sri for bad keying. I'm also enjoying "happy mobiling". For that I use whip sticks on a mag mount at less power (some 30-40 watts) at reasonable SWR. Astonishing what you can achieve with low pwr CW! QSL primarily via bureau! I do accept eQSLs but would prefer the original card if available. And/or send me your direct qsl and get mine back in the mail, no problem, no charge, no frills. We understand deutsch, English, nederlands, français - and Morse Code.

Nw - vy gld to see you (agn?)! 73 Wolfgang [ wolf ], DL3HAE

UPDATE 2015: Currently no more "happy mobiling". After having had my car for 13 yrs I sold her and the one I got in exchange is made of aluminium. No mag mount will stay on that car... Now I am noodling around with portable operation...

Why Amateur Radio?
As a young boy at the age of 10 I found transmitter masts and broadcasting towers really interesting and I couldn't stop making photo shots of radio stations. At the age of 15 I was sent to Sussex/UK to learn English. Then my parents purchased a "stereo set", a radio receiver that couldn't only tune FM stations but also had a strong short wave receiver on board. Soon I found out that a little piece of wire was good enough to receive the world. I grew up and from my first earned money I bought a portable radio receiver "Schaub Lorenz Intercontinental" (http://www.universal-radio.com/used/sold198.html). In the late 60th I was in Kutztown (PA/USA) and a CB-Radio OP gave me a catalogue from Lafayette Radio Electronics. Wow, so many goodies, beautiful Ham radios with tubes and diodes. However, it took until 1977 when I got my first radio license....
