QTH Bad Lauterberg (Harz mountains), Locator JO51FO, IARU 1, ITU 28, CQ 14

Licensed since 1984 and off-air for almost 25 years until 2013.

Drake TR-3 plus additional equipment ext. VFO and power supply

Revived some amateur radio equipment now in March 2013 to be on air again. And it's done! Drake TR-3 with Remote VFO RV-4 is back on air. Built in 1963 it's in a good shape again running around 150 Watts CW and around 80 Watts for SSB. It's modulated by a Shure 444 dynamic microphone.

I've built some Bazooka dipole antennas for 40m, 20m, 15m and 10m. They are all lying on the roof of my garage. The speaker is a Drake MS-4 hosting an AC-4 power supply as a replica. I've got a used GAP Titan DX up and running.

For those who like to read more about my ham activities, you can follow my blog at http://dl8aap.koch-carsten.de. I also started a repeater project under the governance of the chapter of DARC DOK H19 Osterode on the top of the Ravensberg mountain in the near of Bad Sachsa located the southern part of the Harz Mountains. You can follow its activities there at http://www.db0rvb.de.

QRL & other hobbies

Meanwhile I am a so called IT Security Official based on good knowledge of IT system administration since late 80s. My other hobby beside ham radio is making music as a keyboardist in the genres Progressive Rock (Keith Emerson R.I.P), Gospel, Blues, Soul and 60s/70s rock. Composed some own tracks which I recorded with some brilliant musicians via the Internet. I also composed a score music for the story "The little prince" by Saint-Exupery. Well, just found on the internet an old special instructions for building an analog polyphonic synthesizer by Elektor which I started in the early 80s but was unfinished - until now!

...and so many more!

Living in Bad Lauterberg in the beautiful Harz mountains almost right in the center of Germany with my gorgeous family (and doggie). QTH Loc is JO51FO.

May I proudly present our musical HAM-Dog "Lucky" (I know it's a crappy name but he was named like that when we got him last year in the age of 5). Sometimes I think his ears work like an unmatched antenna. But he really is a loyal friend
