Hi! Thanks for taking the time to look me up on the net. I am 40 and work as an English teacher at an Elementary School near Madrid. I have been studying English for twenty-five years and still love the language. HAM radio makes up for a wonderful tool for me to keep it up. I lived in Laurens, South Carolina (USA) for four years. That's why you may have noticed some southern drawl in my English. :)

When I am off work, I try to be on the air as much as I can. My favorite bands are 10-17-30m. I like rag chewing rather than the usual 5/9 and 73! In fact, the little time I get to be on the air, I would rather have a long chat QSO than work the rarest DXCC. I guess that's why I am not an avid DX chaser. While I enjoy casual DXing, I just do no find any thrill round pile ups of any sorts or in contesting at all. The only contest I will take part in is the yearly Spanish National CW Contest.

MAIN STATION (NEAR BURGOS): My main radiostation is located in a small town up in the mountains in Northern Spain, near Burgos. My working conditions are a TS 870S, a homemade 17m rotary dipole and a multiband inverted Vee Dipole for 30-40-80m. I also like to work 2m repeaters. CW on HF is my preferred mode, although I operate some SSB from time to time. (See picture below with antenna setup)
I do not have an Internet connection at this QTH, so I play radio the old fashioned way, that is, without a DX Cluster, without any chances to look up stations as I work them, etc.

SECOND QTH STATION (NEAR MADRID): My second station is located in a town 20 miles North of Madrid. In this case, the working conditions are a TS870, 100W and a Cushcraft R8 vertical antenna.

Besides HAM RADIO, I am a commercial aircraft buff! My favorites are wide bodies such as the B747-400, A340-600, and B777-300. Every now and then I will go airplane spotting near Madrid aiport. I also like hiking, going for long walks with Kiko (my German Shepherd), riding bicycles, Geocaching and digital photography, all of the above along with a V/UHF HT! :)

I reply 100% to all QSL cards received via BURO. However, should you need one from me quickly, please send yours DIRECT with a SASE.

Best regards! See you on the air again!
