Why did I become a ham? In 1986, while I was finishing my degree at the "Universidad Politécnica de Madrid" (Escuela de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación), I saw an advertisement of the University Clubstation (EA4RCT) showing Maxwell’s equations, a KH6 QSL and a text stating “the funny side of our colleague Maxwell”. I found that really interesting (or at least less bored than all the theoretical and mathematical stuff I was used to study) and I got my first license.

Since them, I have used several callsigns (EB1EUW, EA1AIB) until 2002, when I moved to Guadalajara (IN80KP) and changed to EA4AFP. You can find me in SSB/RTTY/PSK/JT65/JT9/FT8 40 to 6 meters, and in 2 meters from time to time.

I enjoy DX! Confirmed (SSB) more than 100 entities per band, from 40 to 10 meters, including WARCs. All this with a humble station, homemade antennas and TS-50 barefoot. Later I bought a Yaesu 450, and I have confirmed more than 100 entities per band in digital modes from 40 to 10 meters. You can see below the EADX-100 awards.

I use LoTW and the QSOs for EA4AFP/AN4AFP/AM4AFP/EA1AIB have been uploaded (November 2008) and are updated weekly. For SSB QSOs I got DXCC#35300 using only "LoTW QSLs".  For RTTY QSOs, and using only "LoTW QSLs", I got DXCC#2565. Below my DXCC standings using only LoTW QSLs.

NOTE for bureau QSLs: If you want to receive your bureau QSL faster, send me an email with your request and the details of the QSO.I will include your card in my next delivery.
