January 30, 2017: All FJ/KO8SCA bureau QSL ClubLog requests by USA stations have been mailed to their respective USA QSL bureaus.

January 21, 2017: All FJ/KO8SCA direct QSL requests have been mailed.

January 10, 2017: The FJ/KO8SCA QSL cards have arrived from the printer and all the QSL cards requests will be fulfilled in the next 2 weeks.

November 28, 2016:

The FJ/KO8SCA DXpedition is now QRT with almost 7000 QSOs in the log.

  • Of those, 25% of QSOs gave an ATNO and 40% QSOs gave a new band.
  • The continent distribution is: EU 60%, NA 35%, AS 3%. The QTH had a complete blocked view of anything South of me, so I have very few QSOs with AF and SA.
  • 4.5% of the QSOs (about 300) are on top band, mostly with NA.
  • Operating modes: CW (3880), SSB (2354), RTTY (615), JT65 (46)

I just uploaded all the QSOs to LoTW. That will probably make a lot of people happy!
The QSL cards will be sent out as soon as they arrive from the printer, in about a month.

Above all, my FJ/KO8SCA DXpedition to St. Barts was a lot of fun!

KO8SCA landing in St. Martin     FJ/KO8SCA SteppIR antenna for 40M-10M

Arriving in St. Martin airport and heading to the boat that will take me to St. Barts.

Only 3 bags fit all the equipment. 2 carry-on and one check-in.

The antenna was a Stepp IR vertical with elevated radials for 40M to 10M.

FJ/KO8SCA equipment setup     FJ/KO8SCA Elecraft transceiver and amp

The equipment was an Elecraft K3 transcriver, Elecraft KPA 500W amp, MicroKEYER II controller and Begali CW key.

FJ/KO8SCA The 160M set up was simple     FJ/KO8SCA the 160M was efficient

My 160M setup was simple, yet effiecient.

I used the SteppIR vertical as a sustaining pole for raising an inverted L for 160M.

FJ/KO8SCA rented house      FJ/KO8SCA The view from my operating desk

This is the house I rented for my DXpedition in St. Barts. You can see the vertical antena in the bakground.

The picture on the right is the view I had from the window next to my operating table.
