I came to amateur radio from the CB boom in the 1980s.

My first 'B' licence Callsign was G1KVY in 1984 then I passed the 12wpm Morse test and moved up to G0FUW in October 1986.

I am a keen radio constructor and QRP operator, G-QRP Club number 2196. Organiser of the Bath Buildathon, an annual event, usually in January, aimed at newcomers to radio construction but more experienced radio amateurs are welcome.

I have been delivering amateur radio training since 1990.

I enjoy operating portable, especially 2m and 6m Backpacker Contests. I am a member of the Wessex Contest Group, callsign MX0WCB.

Main station HF antenna is a Cobweb set of dipoles for 20, 17, 15, 12 & 10m - see picture. A triband VHF vertical is above the Cobweb.
