I am QRV on 6 mtrs 2 mtrs & 70cms and all the HF Bands. I also have a Colinear for VHF and UHF and 6 Metres, as well as these antennas, I have a Western HF 10, together with a Comet 422H Triband Dipole for HF.

Licenced since late 80's I also have life time call VP8BGT. Retired Flight Attendant for the Favourite Airline 37 years service. Interests are Gardening, Jazz Wine Cooking and of course Amateur Radio. I am married 1972,  alas no kids, but am young at heart and enjoy a good ragchew. Now into my 8th decade and I hope to be around for that telegram.

I have achieved 3 of my ambitions. I flew Concorde, stayed at the Wardorf and visited Las Vegas. I would love to have my our own Radio Station (Broadcast) in Woodcote and bring Jazz to my local village and theTown of Reading in England.

I also Broadcast on a Student Station called Blast 1386 in Reading and is called Reading College, which has its own AP  "Blast 1386 " for your Mobile or your Tablet or LapTopsubject to Streaming failing run by Student but is good little Radio Station so spread the Gospel for please always welcome new listeners.....

I also did broadcast on Stoke Mandeville Hospital Radio. Anything you can do for the afore (Jazz) as I try to promote Jazz any way I can , so would be gratefully received...

The picture you can see is at Blast 1386's Studios and not my Shack.

It is accessable via the web, sadly my shack is not as good, Hi. I would welcome any Jazz information, such as Jazz Clubs and good venues around the world etc .... Google Blast 1386. com

I Broadcast  a Radio show on "Blast 1386" and it  goes out the 2nd and Last Friday of the Month at 8pm local time  it is called "Dave's Late Flight Show" Ap:  Blast 1386 or the Tune In Ap.  If you are a Jazzer call into my website Daveself.com to see my pics and jazz info ok? So hope you do call in.

In the late 1980's I visited the Falklands and operated from VP8 and also ZD8. I also went to dinner with VP8LP  Bob Mcleod the Ham who alerted the Brits of the Argies intended invasion to the Falklands.  Both the Falklands and Asension Island inhabitants were very kind to me.  I fished off a Tanker on Asension Island and caught some great big Bonitas, which we BBQ'd having supplied fishing equipment,  that was sorely needed. So I have a very special interest to this part of the world, also being given by the late Post master for an agreed sum a licence (VP8) for life. I also enjoyed very much kind hospitality and operated local Hams equipment, so  I have very special memory for this part of the world. Thanks for reading this this.
