Welcome to my QRZ Page.

Born in London in 1944. I know that, as I was there.

Went to several schools in the Southend-on-Sea, Essex area of the UK. Even when it snowed.

Worked in the import and export of Fruit and Vegetables, before retiring at the age of 38. I bettered my aim of retiring at 40 by nearly two years. Since then I've enjoyed having all that free time for myself.

Traveled a lot in Europe, Middle East and Far East.

My main Hobbies are Researching my Families History, my family is traceable back to Roman times, Tropical Fish, and Ham Radio.

With regard to DStar please don't unlink your local repeater from the reflector before you switch your radio off, it's a pain in the butt for other users. Just turn off your radio, that is all that is required.

Reflector 001C is not an international calling channel. It works like any other Reflector, only it's probably used more often than most.

Protocols on DStar are exactly the same as talking on an analogue radio repeater, how come we all forget operating proceedures, and just key up. Remember what we was taught on how to operate.

Please show respect to other DStar users.

Missing the noise on HF due to the bad HF conditions. Just turn off your DSTAR squelch to feel right at home.

Very low down here 2 meters above sea level and almost on the sea front. Hence the easy access to the Herne Bay repeater 22 miles away in Kent on 5 watts.

We all know that the answer of the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything is 42.  However, the most pressing question of late and is there an answer, to why so many Amateur Radio Operators add the word "THERE" to the end of every sentence they speak.

Now a member of South Essex Amateur Radio Society (SEARS).

Also a member of Southend, Leigh and District Aquarist Society (SLADAS).
