Photo of Antenna (Hustler 6BTV trap vertical with 36 radials) shows my /A QTH located in the middle of Dartmoor at a height of 1,210 feet/369m ASL. This has a Remote Controlled Kenwood TS-480HX using the standard Kenwood AHRP-10 and ARCP-480 software with a VPN connection via the Internet between my Home QTH and my /A QTH. An old Toshiba 3490CT Notebook at the Remote Site is used as the software and audio interface to the TS-480HX. Remote control of the 13.8V DC mains power supply, AT-500 ATU, Antenna Rotator, and antenna selection/grounding relays is done using a NETIOM Ethernet/Web I/O module as the basis of the Remote Control Equipment Management unit which I built. (See http://www.audon.co.uk/netiom.html )

My interest in Amateur Radio stems back to my Father who was a Shortwave listener and later became licensed as G8HET and G4JBV (now SK). I passed the C+G RAE in 1966 at the age of 15 whilst still at school and passed my Morse Test in 1968 finally getting my Class A license, G3XOU. My main interest was home construction building many HF and VHF rigs and I can say that Amateur Radio as a hobby played a big part in helping me in my working Career in Mobile Radio and Satellite Ground Stations.

My main interests now are HF orientated experimenting with antennas at my /A site and Remote HF operation from my home QTH using a Kenwood TH-D72E and TS-B2000 using the Sky Command II system whilst out walking on Dartmoor.
