Mainly interested in weak signal and contest working on VHF/UHF. Originally licensed as G8GXE in November 1972. Upgraded to G4NBS in October 1981.

Also to be found operating with A1 Contest Group under G4ZAP/P and G5PI/P on behalf of The CambHams.

I have been operational from this QTH near Cambridge since 1984.
Work and family prevented serious operation for nearly 20 years but I became QRV from home again in 2010, originally just on 70cm and 23cm.

I became active on 13cm in 2012 but although still have the equipment I am currently QRT this band

I returned to 2M in 2013 in a small way at first to test the neighbours TV's but now fully operational with QRO capability.
Unfortunately I live on the edge of a noisy urban environment so can not always hear too well to the East or South East, apologies if you hear me and I do not respond!

In 2015 I finally returned to MS, having dabbled in the 1980's. I do not use SSB for MS (so that the XYL can get some sleep!) but I am still learning how to get the best from WSJT and enjoy working new locations.

Thanks to Enrico IK0BZY I have even had an MS QSO on 70cm using JTMS in 2015 Geminids shower.
I have not yet had the courtesy of a QSL card to confirm the contact unfortunately! sad
I need to improve my Aerial and Power to improve my chances of many more I think.

My best Tr Dx on 2m is with EA8TX at 2990km worked on 27th September 2016 after many years of waiting for the right conditions. Also worked EA8TJ at 2982km a couple of minutes later. Both stations only workable in a 15 minute window before they both faded out!

2016/7 Station Capability
2M with possibility of 400W output to single 10 ele WAXXX10S
70cm is up to 250W to 24 ele CQM24UC
23cm is approx 80W to 55 ele Tonna
13cm is currently temporarily QRT but when QRV is 50W to 40 ele Wimo

June 2017 - I've finally rejoined the activity on 6M. Just 80W to a 5 ele to test the Rx QRN. Means I am QRT on 23cm while the 6M beam is on the mast unfortunately.

I discovered the amazing capabilities of JT65 and FT8 in July 2017, enabling me to work many locators and DXCC on 6m via Sporadic E, even crossing the pond on several occasions.

Finally, after 36 years, this has woken an interest in operating on HF - difficult to raise an efficient aerial thanks to the small garden space but having some fun even with my bit of wet string in this low sunspot era.

I collect QSL cards towards awards. - On VHF/UHF a physical QSL card is almost always still required for most awards.

I upload all my QSO's to LOTW and also my HF Log to eQSL as a courtesy but if you do not use LOTW I would appreciate a QSL card via the Buro if possible as eQSL cards are not accepted for majority of award programms unfortunately.
