Been interested in radio since I was a kid, listening to stations on 80 mtrs with a multiband radio and R. N. I. (Radio Northsea International) on the A. M. band, I was hooked! Finally the local college ran the ham course and became licensed in 1978 with the then class B call G8TIN. After using a super H. F. station, I saw the light and took my morse test in 1982 and had a class A call G4OCO.

Main ham interests are dx'ing, contesting, amateur television (A.T.V.) and data comms, (SSTV, digital voice, rtty etc), in fact anything to do with hooking up the computer to the radio! Committee member of the Mid Cornwall Beacon and Repeater Group (M.C.B.R.G.), Been involved in packet, running a BBS, nodes, Echolink and ATV streaming GB3NQ via the www.batc.tv website.

As I live in central Cornwall, we now have the option since January 2015 the use of inserting a "K" for Kernow/Cornwall in the callsign prefix. So listen out for GK4OCO and give us a call.
