Hi. I am married to Tim G4STH. This is a photo of us together at our 50th wedding anniversary in February 2012. I was first licenced in 1984. I requested the call sign G4YLO (Young Lady Operator) and had to wait for it to be issued to me. I was very keen on DXing on all bands and also contesting. I won the Bermuda contest in 1986 and had a great time in Bermuda to collect my award at the invitation of the Bermuda Radio Society. In boith 1985 and 1986 I won the single operator Phone for the UK in the ARRL 10 - Meter Contest. In 1987 I won the Silver Jubilee Award to celebrate 25 Years of the DX News Sheet. It was awarded to recognise outstanding DX achievment. I was made QSL manager in 1989 for VP8BUB - VP8BRR from South Georgia. Logs and cards are still available. (They did NOT use CW) Unfortunately around 1993 we had a storm that blew our tower down and smashed our antenna systems and since then we have been qrt. My OM recently retired from work and we have decided to come back to ham radio. We are slowly building a new station. We have a new Icom 746 Pro3. We have a amplifier. Our antenna's will eventually be a Cushcraft X740 on a new 20mtr tower for 10-15-20-40 and we will have wire antenna's for 80-160. I hope to meet up with many of my old friends when we are fully active again and we have some better conditions. Regards Hazel. Dated October 2012.
