I qualified for my amateur licence passing the old format Radio Amateurs Examination (RAE) in 1988 from the Rotherham College of Arts & Technology in South Yorkshire. However before this time I was active in radio as a Short Wave Listener for many years.

Interests include antenna theory and building, HF Dx-ing, Propagation and operating my own Dxpeditions.
