Hello, Hi, Hola, Salut, Hallo, Konnichiwa, & Zdravstvujte!

My name is Nigel and I live near the City of Swansea in South Wales, UK.

I was first licensed as a ham in 1974 with a "GW8" callsign that initially allowed me to operate on the VHF bands. Back in those days 2 meter FM and repeater operation was very new hi! A few years later (1976) I learnt morse and passed the 12 words per minute test that was then necessary to gain a 'full' UK radio amateur’s licence.

Overseas work and other commitments in the 1980s and 1990s resulted in me 'leaving' the hobby for more than ten years but I became active agian around the year 2001. My principal interests include the HF bands both phone and RTTY as well as the occaisional chat on the locat 2 meter repeater (GB3WW).
