Hi and welcome to my QRZ page !

My name is Samuel and my QTH is located about 20 km NE of Bern. I'm a carpenter and radio amateur since 2001. Main interests are digital voice on VHF/UHF and digital modes on HF.

The UHF DMR Equipment here consists of a Hytera MD785 and a Motorola DP 3600. For the other modes on VHF and UHF I use a Yaesu FTM-400D, FTM-100D, FT1D, FT-857, VX-8GR, Icom IC-E92D, ID-5100,  Motorola XTS 5000 and an XTL 2500. Antennas are a Diamond SE-100, X30 and homemade 7 element and 10 element DK7ZB beams. I'm on DSTAR, DMR, P25, C4FM and run a WiresX node.

On HF I work with a FT DX 1200 and a Flex 1500 running 100W SSB and 50W in digital modes. Antennas are a HyEndFed® wire antenna and a I3VHF Ciro Mazzoni baby loop 2m over the ground. Due to my novice licence I'm on 15m and 10m most of the time.

I TRY TO FOLLOW THE DX CODE OF CONDUCT!

  • I will listen, and listen, and then listen again before calling.
  • I will only call if I can copy the DX station properly.
  • I will not trust the DX cluster and will be sure of the DX station's call sign before calling.
  • I will not interfere with the DX station nor anyone calling and will never tune up on the DX frequency or in the QSX slot.
  • I will wait for the DX station to end a contact before I call.
  • I will always send my full call sign.
  • I will call and then listen for a reasonable interval. I will not call continuously.
  • I will not transmit when the DX operator calls another call sign, not mine.
  • I will not transmit when the DX operator queries a call sign not like mine.
  • I will not transmit when the DX station requests geographic areas other than mine.
  • When the DX operator calls me, I will not repeat my call sign unless I think he has copied it incorrectly.
  • I will be thankful if and when I do make a contact.
  • I will respect my fellow hams and conduct myself so as to earn their respect.
