The HV50VR log for the International Marconi Day Celebration has been uploaded to LOTW. Pay attention that the call sign in LOTW is HV50VR and not HV50VR/IMD. The suffix /IMD has been used to indicate the station participation at the International Marconi Day (IMD). Please help me to share this information.

HV50VR is a special callsign to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vatican Radio Trasmitting Site "Santa Maria di Galeria". The Santa Maria di Galeria Transmitter was established in 1957 and it is an extraterritorial area in Italy belonging to the Vatican City. The most interesting aerial is the one for the medium wave frequency 1530 kHz, which consists of four 94 metre high grounded free standing towers arranged in a square, which carry wires for a medium wave aerial on horizontal crossbars. The direction of this aerial can be changed.

- HV50VR started operation on Sept. 27th 2007.

If you are reading this page probably you are interested about HV50VR and her QSL.
I receive daily e-mail requests about the QSL policy and I think could be useful to give here all the answers.
HV50VR use LOTW facility and after few days you will find your QSO confirmed without any needs to further request and contributions.
If you want the traditional QSL I kindly ask you to send to me (I0JBL) your SASE with a sufficient contribution to cover the shipping cost by mail.
Italian rate for the mail shipment are as follows (http://poste.it/postali/estero/prioritaria_prezzieformati.shtml):
a) Europe and Mediterranean countries 0.85 € (about 1.1 USD)
b) Africa, North America, South America, Asia: 2 € (about 2.6 USD)
c) Oceania (Australia, New Zealand and countries in the Pacific Area) 2.5 € (about 3,25 USD)
I do not send QSL via bureau.
My goal is only to provide a service to the Ham radio community.
Thank you for reading this note
