About me

My current Radio setup is: Yaesu FT-1000MP MkV, PA Drake L7, Kenwood TM-D710, Kantronics KAM XL, microHAM micro KEYER II, Hy-Gain AV-640 and a home made remotized End Fed wire for 15/17/30/40/80/160 meters.

I'm enjoing DX-ing since I got my license, then Ham Radio is my first activity and I'm spending more of my spare time on it. My modest antennas doesn't permit me to compete with whom that have large antenna arrays, I always dreamed to have in my own big aerials but living in a condo is really hard. I started my activity on 1979 with a Mosley 3 elements tribander and a Fritzel W3DZZ for 80/40 m., some years later I substituited the Mosley tribander and his mast, putting on the roof condo a lillte tower of 8 meters hight and a 6 elements triband TB6EM TELREX on his top. In the 1984 I moved in another location with a small room for antennas so I had to use only 2 verticals, the Hustler 5BTV 10/15/20/40/80 and the Butternut HF2V 40/80, there no were way to have WARC antennas due limited space. On 1992 I was back on my old location in the condo but this time I was forced to mount only a vertical antenna, so I decided for the Hy-Gain AV640 multiband vertical. Years later I added for 160/80/40/30/17/15 metres an modest end-fed wire antenna long only 26,40 metres, with home made external remote tuner that I designed and built, but the antenna wire run sloped toward ground from my apartament located at the 3th floor of my 6 floors condo and now it is surrounded from the reinforced concrete of the new railway. Yes I know all this is extreme, but I have no choise: take it or leave it. I like experimentig and building any sort of wire antennas. I got my retirement on April 2008 and now I've more spare time for my hobbies.
