I'm an Ham Home-Maker

...and this are my Premiun Cups

This a Great 2x Mopa Tubes QSO with a great friend!

and I'm a CW lover

     INORC MEMBER # 536

Born in 1956 and since the child age I was intrigued by Radio SWL (Radio Budapest, Radio Mosca, and so on , were my first experiences) with a tube radio.

In 1972/3 I was fortunate and met the real Radio and an OM who introduced in the Ham World and so in 1974 I got my Ham licence as I0SKK when I was just 18 old.

I was a student and so no money and no great tech basys , so begun an Ham with a Geloso RX G4/220 RX and a VFO G4/102 as TX, (6V6 tube as power amplifier, just a couple of W) in QRP and CW; some time later I enhanced the basic station with a power amplifier, adding an 807 tube as a "power booster".

So the story begun and took me in my deep, with homemade and CW passions.

At College I learned Electronics and TLC and did several Electronic job in the Radar/Antenna field; but in  1992 I lest industry and begun an High School Electronic teacher.

I love and use CW and QRP,  quite at 100%.

I want  homemade all my station and do not own any commercial rig, as I prefer to use just homebrew.

Currently I use a Vibroplex 1924 made Bug  that I got on ebay from an old US Ham;  I was introduced in bug fashion and passion  by my very close friend, Chas  I0XXR (ex I1PL ) that  used bug so well and today I enjoy it too.

Although I'm not a "so called CW Top" (over 25/30 wpm), anyway I love so much the Bug touch and CW tone in the receiver noise floor  and in this life period I'm coming back to tube equipments with the beauty of round knobs and listening the soft audio sound of tubes.

For me the Radio is not just an hobby, but really a Passion and Ham Radio is not a time spending manner, instead a living   manner as several OM  taught: I want to remember I1BAY, I4NE, I0XXR and my close friend Nino, now IZ7DJR ex I7ZCZ,   in my actually 40 years Ham life.

                                Some FT243 XTALS:  my "loves"

According my personal opinion Ham Radio should be experiment, homemade, try, and desider to know and test, not just transmitt and collect awards and QSL. This is my view of this wonderful world and I believe for me is the only manner to live inside it.

My present Transmitter: Homebrw MOPA 6CL6+6DQ6 rockbound

My loved Bug, the Lionel J36 of 1942 era

NO EQSL, please:

I choose to manage just paper QSL's as I love the fashion and the feeling of a paper card and the emotions when I watch it after several years; I do not like electronics card in any form.

I think something in the life should be done simpler and in theMY HAM LIFE QSL and QSO memory is something I want to have touchable and not virtual.

I'm sorry, of course this is just my opinion, but I'm free to be in this manner and I DO love it too much ...hi
