1971 Qrp stn:  2 tubes tx (2 watts out) , 3 conv.superhet Rx and 14mhz dipole

1972 - South pole QRP qso = 2 watts and dipole

Not an easy qso, vfo shifting, all tubes stn, surely  not a great performer : sensitivity at least 20db worse  than  modern gears, 1khz selectivity, too much khz - per- turn VFO knob, but some decades_ago it was an hard goal for a new comer... but the little miracle happened breaking the invisible but hard wall_of "thousands-mile-per-watt" leaving me astonished at first, than jumping all around "the radio room" and of course a  sleepless night.

Thanks Nick Makarov for you skill and_pacience.

Zippiro-samurai antenna confirmed its outstanding capabilities

as well as Ken's skill and good receiving site.

Quite hard on 40m : 2way Qrp 5w using a vertical fishing-pole antenna_
