I have been licenced as JN7FAH since 1998 and running a weekend shack in a

beautiful location near Sendai city as shown in this page.

First licensed in 1973 as JA0RYN. After the first active decade with this call

I settled down and rised family and job performance for fifteen years.

My interest at the moment is 160m DXing. It is tough challenge with a leagal limit

RF output, but also get fun from it.

In this season, I first built a loaded double-L for 160m as shown below and then

modified it to a 23m tall T-hatted vertical with four full size elevated radials.

I count 160m DXCC up to 98 worked and 97 confirmed and still need to work

two more and confirm four more because an EA3 big gun daddy has never

confirmed.

I upload all the log to LoTW.

Never send QSL to JN7FAH nor JA0RYN to bureau anymore.

I have withdrawn JARL membership longer than 30 years against their impolicy.

I clearly against JARL bureau manner on which they dispose inbound QSL cards

from foreign stations to non-JARL member stations without notice to issuers.

I know other polite IARU member societies return QSL cards to non-member

stations to issuers with an indication of  "Non-member".

Recovery from the 2011.3.11 earthquake disaster.

Two weeks later of the disaster, I first visited the weekend shack and found crack in

the ground along the passage to shack and a tilted 15m tall self-supported tower.

Tower reconstraction:

December 2011, the tilted tower was reconstracted and grew up to 20m tall guyed

tower.

Antennas were replaced to

  • Nagara TA-351-40 (4 element 20/15/10m tribander and 40m dipole)
  • T3-3VX (3 elements 30/17/12m tribander).

However, a lot of carpentry was still needed for shack recovery one more year.

Thanks to the master carpenter HarryJG7PSJ for his devoted help.

Antenna renewal:

October 2014, A-Team of  the vicinal hill-top station JA7ZFN came to mount new antenna.

Thanks Sam and Harry for your help.

Present antennas:

  • 40, 20 and 15: Creative Design 714X @20m.
  • 30, 17 and 12: Nagara T3-3VX @23m.
  • 80/75: 1/4 and 3/4 Slopers.
  • 160: Top- and bottom-loading double-L with 22m long vertical section.

Current design of the 160m top- and bottom-loading double-L.

Feed point is off-centered at the top of bottom loading coil as shown below.
