QSL Direct, LOTW and bureau as a last resort.

Here is my current shack and tower.

I was originally licensed in 1961 and, in 1970, when married, I let my license expire.

In July, 2002, I passed my Technician, General, and Extra class exams while living in a home in Medford, MA. My new call was KB1IQW. I now hold my original call, K0KVR. In July, 2004 I purchased a home in Derry, NH, now my QTH.

My current Working conditions are a Yaesu FTdx1200, a Yaesu FT1000MP MK V and an Icom 706 MK IIG. I also own a Vertex VX150 which I rarely use on 2 meters. My amplifier is an Ameritron AL80B amplifier when needed. My antennas include a Mosley TA33M WARC triband beam for 10, 15 and 20 meters with rotatable dipoles on 12, 17 and 30 meters on a Universal 40 foot tower on a Height's 4 foot tiltover base, an Alpha Delta 80 meter dipole mounted as an inverted V, a 40 meter dipole and a 160 meter trapped dipole. I also use a DSP599zx to improve signals. I use both synch and asynch communications. I have a Yaesu SCU-17 which I use primarily for JT65 and FT8 modes on 6 meters. I use TRX-Manager to control my Yaesu rig thru my PC. I keep automated and manual logs.

Since being re-licensed in July 2002, I have 4000+ mobile and fixed QSOs. I am a VEC licensed examiner registered with the ARRL. Awards include DXCC Honor Roll, mixed and phone, DXCC on 9 bands (mixed # 9761), DXCC on Phone #33,831, CW #10,608, and RTTY #2,488, VUCC #2611, DXCC Challenge with 2414 worked, WAZ #8932,WAS #14,608, WAC, 13 colonies and rag chewers. I currently have 341 entities worked. SSB is my favorite mode.

In July and August, 2017 I decided to try to start making QSO's on 6 meters using the new digital mode FT8 as well as JT65 after I discovered that my TA33M WARC radiated with a 1.5 to 1 SWR on 6 (no 6 meter antenna). During that period I was able to log 82 new grids using FT8, 17 new grids using JT65 and 1 new grid using CW all with 70 watts for a total of 100 and  the VUCC award. Included in that were 9 new DXCC countries with the furthest being Balearic island, a double hop of 3700 miles. All this was during the last half of the sporadic E propagation season for NA. The magic band and FT8 are awesome.

I do not use EQSL any more.

Hope to work you on the air.
