Greetings  to all from K1CAL first licensed as WB1GDG  in 1977 some  forty years
ago while working as Wire and Cable Product Development Engineer for General
Electric. During my tenure  with GE I received a number of patents for high
termination design and co authored a number of technical papers on High
Voltage Impulse testing on 138 kv power cable .With the help of my Elmer's
K1YJQ and KC1QY  I went and received both my general and advanced class
license. I was an avid DX er in the early  80's using a TH 6DXX at 60'ft  I worked
and  confirmed 310 countries in 3 years. I built a homebrew pair of 4-1000A's
as it made the thing quite easier along with the great sun spot conditions.
Radio time was reduced to a minimum as I changed careers in the early 80's and
worked as a avionics design engineer for a Gas turbine engine manufacture
assisted in the develop a microprocessor based portable data acquisition unit
which is used to measure engine performance under simulated conditions for
both the XM-1tank and commercial business aircraft. After obtaining my private
pilot's license and a short stint in Designing VSLI clean rooms for Small signal,
Bi- polar, RF, and Mesa devices I decided to start my own company  Electrical
Contracting Co. (C.T. Electrical Const. Co.LLC ) .Over the past 36 years we have
serviced the Commercial , Residential and Institutional markets. Currently
licensed in 9 states. My amateur radio activity was put on hold from 1996 until
2003 as family played a major role in my life. Received my vanity call in 2004.
Now finally being semi-retired, I can  devote more time to the hobby I adore.
After having a contest station back in Ct., I decided to have a modest setup here
in Georgia.
