First licensed as KN3JGJ in 1959, was bitten by the DX bug when I worked Ivor VK3XB as a novice on 40 mtrs. Got into DX contesting for FRC by my mentor Clarence W3KFQ (SK) and spent many years in the contests, but now just a casual DXer. Work mostly 80/160 meters cw, but can be found on 160 thru 6 meters CW, SSB, RTTY. FT8 and FM. I monitor 144.440, 146.520 and 52.525 FM.

Equipment: Icom IC7600 and IC781, Yaesu FT1000MP, Kenwood TL922's, Antenna Wilson Sy33 Tribander @ 50', 40/80 meter 4x vertical arrays, 160 meter inverted L and sloper, Slinky Beverages, 280' loop on ground and 160m phased magnetic loops for rx.

First started out in electronics fixing radio and TV sets as a hobby and it developed into a career. I retired from AMTRAK, the National Passenger Railroad as Manager of the Radio Engineering Department.
