Hello from K4BQN

I have been a ham for over 30 years, holding the call sign WP4AVW for almost 25 years. I decided to change my callsign since I have been residing in Florida for over 20 years. The K4BQN has a lot of meaning to me, since BQN is the airport code for my hometown in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

I am mostly active on the digital modes and enjoy QRP tremendously.

This is a picture of my shacks new configuration. I have an Icom IC 7300, IC 7100, F-8101, and KX3 into a Hex antenna at 30 ft.

For VHF/UHF, I have an ICOM ID 5100, and ID-51A Plus.

I have setup some radio equipment on my recumbant bicycle and enjoy operating from the trike a lot.

I also enjoy using my Tiny Travel Trailer and my plans are to start activating Islands around Florida while I camp. Below you can see one of my trips to Lion Country Safary in southern Florida. My Grandaughter enjoyed very buch camping there and listening to the Lions from the campsite. Normally when I camp I bring my QRP equipment and try to operate some. I normally use a Buddistick or my Alex Loop antenna.

If you see me on a campground, stop by and we can chat and enjoy some good Puertorican coffee.
