I purchased my first Icom rig an IC-7300 and really like the radio. It is everything other hams have said about it. I also added a UR6QW 8-band equalizer/mic amp/compressor, this is a very high quality instrument that matches the IC-7300 perfectly. Coupled with my ElectroVoice RE-27, a perfect match.

Current antenna's; TH7 @ 72 ft.; 30m Inv. V @ 70 ft.; 2 ele 40m Cushcraft yagi @ 75 ft.; 160m Inv L with 4 raised radials; OCF @ 60 ft; 80m bazooka @ 65 ft.; 60m Inv V @ 45 ft. This set up gives me 6m thru 160m.

Also shown is one my new Homemade Mic's 'em1a', I built 2. The board and mic element on the left is the original, the NEW board and mic capsule are in the middle. It all gets mounted into a BM800 mic body. I've gotten excellent audio reports, it has a Transound TSB-2555 mic capsule, mic uses 48v Phantom Power. This was definitely a fun project.

Now on 6m, using an OCFD @ 60 ft and 100 watts using the IC-7300.

Started a few months ago on FT8 great mode having a blast.

I also built the world's ugliest mic; 'mic on a stick', a small electret capsule powered by 2 AAA batteries and an on/off switch, surprisingly great audio reports from this mic. Total cost about $3.

Future projects: BitX40 (on the shelf awaiting assembly); mic preamp.
