Initially licensed in October of 2005 as KI4MIU in Marietta, GA and became W4MJA in Sept of 2006. In February of 2014 I switched my call for the last time over to K4LD.

Currently my station is at my 2nd home in Marietta, GA. Future plans call for remote operation from my Las Vegas, NV (Henderson) QTH.

DXing is my primary focus, but I do enjoy some contesting as well. The working conditions are a Flex 6300, a Nye Viking MB-VA antenna tuner, and an Alpha 87A amplifier.

The antennas are located in HOA community and are a bit of a compromise but still get out very well! They include an N4GG Array – (QST July 2002) for 10/15/20 and an inverted vee for 80M as well as the WARC bands. 40M is covered by a simple dipole. For RX on the Low Bands, I have a K9AY loop.

Awards include DXCC and WAS. Currently working on 5BDXCC (Which is really 9BDXCC if we're having THAT conversation).

Other hobbies include cooking, wine, running, and traveling. I travel to the Los Angeles, California area quite frequently and you may catch me on 146.52 crusing down I-15 between Las Vegas and LA.

Professionally, I am in the hospitality industry, specializing in food and beverage management. At the moment, I currently oversee every bar and lounge within an entire hotel/casino on the Las Vegas strip.
