After receiving my Novice (KN4VOW) in 1958, I first became interested in VHF in 1959 as K4VOW. While in college, I got on 2 meters and, in 1968, then got on 432 MHz. I activated Texas on 2304 MHz in 1972. In 1975 after moving to Alabama, I assembled a 432 MHz EME station to activate that state. I have also made numerous VHF DX-peditions to Cayman Brac, FK09, for VHF contests using my ZF2BL call sign. Over the years, I have operated as: ZL1AQC, G5EPZ, K4VOW/HB9, K4QF/HB0, K4QF/HP, K4QF/HB9, and K4QF/DL as well as ZF2BL. In addition to weak signal VHF/UHF, my current interest are bicycle mobiling and IRLP. My best DX from the bicycle are Canary Islands and a Z3A. I currently hold an Amateur Extra Class license.

Professionally, I am a Communications Engineer working with GPS applications, data acquisition, and the design and installation of wideband, high speed, wireless data links.
