I moved from Cookham, Berkshire, England in 1965 to Evanston, Illinois, later moved to Wilmette, Illinois. Then retired to Pecos, New Mexico by the Pecos River 25 miles east of Santa Fe. We are at 7500 ft. surrounded by the Santa Fe National Forest 4 miles north of the village.

I studied art and engineering with an idea of going into industrial design which was a new concept in the late 1950s. But deviated into sales management, engineering sales, then recon photo/IR electronics in the USAF.

Later I opened a repair garage servicing and restoring European cars, mostly British: From Abarth to Zagato through Rolls-Royce & MG.

I raced a Jaguar XK140 for 12 seasons in vintage road racing and a 1927 Salmson S8, local track was Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Also raced a 1929 Austin Seven Special in VSCA in the UK.

We have been married (48 years) with two sons and one grandson.

We retired to New Mexico and built this house:

which is off-grid and solar.

Love jazz: Have jazz records from the 30s and up to 90s, Kid Ory to Lyttleton to Hancock.

I spent 5 years in the local volunteer fire & rescue, then a few years driving the volunteer village ambulance as a first responder. XYL is a JD RN and a BA in History.

As a teenager radio interest manifested first with a Hallicrafters 38E shortwave receiver and caused me to string wire all over the back garden.

Got my Tech in January 2012 and my General in April 2012.

Am involved with setting up an ARES group in our county and a registered SKYWARN spotter.
